About
Professor Andrew Nathaniel Jupiter is the Coordinator of the Petroleum Studies Unit and directly oversees the MSc Petroleum Engineering, and MSc and Postgraduate Diploma in Petroleum Engineering and Management programmes at The University of the West Indies (UWI) St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago. He was appointed as Distinguished Fellow in 2013 and Professor of Practice by The UWI. He is the holder of the Methanol Holdings Trinidad Limited (MHTL) Dennis Patrick Chair in Petroleum Engineering.
Professor Jupiter was one of fifty (50) public servants to be honoured at the Outstanding Public Service Awards Ceremony and Gala by the Government of Trinidad and Tobago for the country’s golden 50th year anniversary of independence in 2012. He was the recipient of the Chaconia Medal Gold in 2016 for his contribution to Public Service. Professor Jupiter is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Fellow of the Energy Institute, and Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (FIMMM).
Professor Andrew Jupiter is married to Dr Clarise McMillan-Jupiter with whom he has five children. Now officially retired, his time is split between his family, the university and the golf course.

Professor Jupiter gives his perspectives on pathways to develop the future energy-based industries, and the role to be played by the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, where he continues to contribute. Professor Jupiter provides insights garnered throughout his 50-year journey with the aim of informing and inspiring the next generation of energy sector leaders.
